So Far So Good
Atticus led an amazing defense of Tom Robinson today in the court house. He wrecked the reputation and credibility of the Ewells by questioning them to the extent of making their embarrassing home life known. Scout, Dill, and I were sitting on the, "colored folks balcony," with the Reverend of, "First Purchase."( The black church) Atticus was pointing out many factors that did not add up, his quick thinking exposed that Tom could not have beat up the right side of Mayella Ewell because his left hand was crippled. Tom also told a story of how Mayella tried to seduce him and that he did not rape her. The Ewell defense was poorly stated and I think we have a good chance of winning. The jury has yet to vote and after dinner, we are going back to see the verdict.
